college football playoff

A lot of people have been saying for over a decade that college football really needs a playoff system, and I completely agree. (I actually did a report on this for an english class in college in 98 and still feel the same way) It is the only major sport I know of that does not pick a champion on the field of play. My suggestion would be just to use an 8 team playoff, and each year the bowls can switch which round they host. So for example if the Fiesta bowl hosted a semi-final round one year then it could host a final the next and a quarterfinal the next year. This way the bowls wouldn't complain because they would change every year like they do now. Also with 8 teams a team with a loss or two losses would still have a chance to win it all. The 1st round the 1 seed would play 8, 2 play 7 and so on, just like in college hoops and any other type of tournament. I think 16 teams would be too much and 4 would be too little. So hopefully one of these years we will see a playoff in college football.
