I guess I spoke too soon about no snow in my previous post. Over the past week or so we've had at least 3 or 4 minor snow accumulations that left at least a coating. It's currently snowing, and we are forecast to get more snow on Friday. Plus, over the last 2 weeks it's been very cold, so I guess winter is finally here.

Today is Jan 14th and I have yet to see any snow this winter. I cannot remember any winter when there hasn't been snow by now, and I can't imagine going an entire winter without any measurable snow. I'm told by reliable sources that the lack of snow is more due to El Nino then to global warming, but there have been El Nino years before when there was some snow.
Then again, it's still kind of early, we can still have lots of snow later this month as well as February and March. I'm not the biggest fan of snow but it would be nice to see at least a little
this winter.
